This dissertation contains three chapters: Chapter 1: Stratigraphic, lithologic, and major element geochemical constraints on magmatic evolution at Lassen volcanic center, California. Chapter 2: Complex Magma Mixing Origin for Multiple Volcano Lithologies Erupted in 1915, from Lassen Peak, California. Chapter 3: Mineralogical and Geochemical Constraints on the Evolution and Mantle Sources of Primitive Tholeiitic and Calc-alkaline Lavas from the Lassen Area, Southernmost Cascade Range, California. Three aspects of the volcanic geology of the Lassen area were studied. The first being the stratigraphy and major-element chemistry of the Lassen Volcanic center, next is the magma mixing in the products of the 1915 eruption of Lassen Peak, and third is the mineralogy and geochemistry of primitive basaltic lavas. The chapters are bound separately but are stored in the same area and have the same file number.
