Troyer W. 1979. Aerial Dall sheep census, Lake Clark National Monument, 1979. Natural Resources Survey and Inventory Report. AR-79/04. National Park Service, Alaska Region. Anchorage, AK

This internal U.S. National Park Service inventory report of Dall sheep in Lake Clark National Monument supplements a 1978 survey. NPS conducted an aerial survey 19-20 July 1979 of the area from Trail Creek to the headwaters of Stony Creek to determine total numbers, distribution, productivity, and composition of the sheep within the Monument boundaries and adjacent areas. An additional 51 sheep were counted north of Trail Creek and beyond the area surveyed in 1978, bringing the total known population of sheep in the Lake Clark area to 531. No sheep were found north of Merrill Pass or along the west side of Stony River.
