Craters of the Moon National Monement breeding bird survey 1999

Munts M. 1999. Craters of the Moon National Monement breeding bird survey 1999

This report details bird surveys that were run on six point count transects during June and July of 1999. There were a total of 712 individuals of 38 species observed. Over a quarter (10 of 38) of the species recorded are listed as sensitive by the state of Idaho, the BLM on adjacent lands, or are a Partners in Flight priority species. Nine of these are either shrub steppe or riparian associates, which emphasizes the importance of Craters of the Moon as a significant sanctuary for these habitats on the upper snake River Basin.
