Bald Eagle Surveys on the Coast of Kenai Fjords National Park, 1986 to 1995

Tetreau M. 1995. Bald Eagle Surveys on the Coast of Kenai Fjords National Park, 1986 to 1995. Seward, AK

1995 - Activity and productivity surveys were conducted from both the ground and air. Data was not shared between the survey teams so that survey methods could be compared. A helicopter was used for both aerial surveys with an experienced observer familiar with the nests present on each survey. The aerial activity survey for the Nuka Bay district was conducted in mid May, but bad weather delayed the survey of the Aialik Bay district until early June. Ground activity surveys took place during May but were hampered by bad weather. Productivity surveys took place during the last week of July.
