Banerjee T. 1973. Age and Rate of Growth of the White Seaperch (Phanerodon furcatus) from Tomales Bay, California. Transactions of the American Fisheries Society. 2:448-450

A report on a study conducted in 1965 that used scales from white seaperch in Tomales Bay to determine ages of the sampled fish, both male and female. The study found no male fish older than 6 years and found the oldest female white seaperch to be 7. In addition, it was noted that among white seaperch of the same length, the growth rate of the females was more rapid than that of the males.
