This report is the third of three volumes describing a seven-year regional initiative to conduct research and population studies of bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) and to plan and carry out restoration plans, in the national parks of the former Rocky Mountain Region (now the Intermountain and Midwest Regions). The Biological Resources Division of the U.S. Geological Survey (BRD) provided scientific advice and research coordination for the National Park Service (NPS) restoration. The research studies were conducted by scientists from the BRD (formerly NBS), the NPS, and universities, and by state agency veterinarians. This volume presents research reports from these studies. The shorter Volume 2 of this series presents just the abstracts of these studies. Volume 1 presents the planning, problem definition, key findings and restoration process.
