The purpose of this paper is to describe the physical and climatic characteristics of the Alagnak River and its entire watershed area. Emphasis will be placed on describing those parameters that affect and determine the hydrologic properties of the river and the hydrology of the river itself. Information presented here will be limited to factual, observable, measurable, or calculable parameters of the Alagnak watershed. The interpretation of how these facts influence navigability of the Alagnake River is beyond the scope of this paper.
