Johnson MJ, Stuart M, Holmes J, Barr M. 2003. 2001-02 Avian inventory final report for Northern Colorado Plateau National Parks: Cedar Breaks National Monument, Fossil Butte National Monument, Golden Spike National Historic Monument, Timpanogos Cave National Monument. USGS Colorado Plateau Field Station. Flagstaff, AZ
This two-year inventory of avifauna in 4 units (Cedar Breaks NM, Fossil Butte NM, Golden Spike NHS, Timpanogos Cave NM) of the Northern Colorado Plateau Network of the NPS was designed to provide baseline data for and documentation of at least 90% of species expected to be present in those units. It is part of a new national emphasis on inventory and monitoring within the NPS. In 2001-2002, Parks were surveyed during the breeding and non-breeding seasons using point counts, incidental surveys, and area searches. New species were documented for each Park unit. Species of special concern and critical habitats were identified within each Park unit. Report includes tables and appendices summarizing the data.
