Growth of Walleyes in South Dakota Waters

Wolf AE, Hubers MJ, Johnson BA, St. Sauver TR, Willis DW. 1994. Growth of Walleyes in South Dakota Waters. Prairie Naturalist. 26(3):217-220

Back-calculated length at age was determined for 38 walleye (Stizostedion vitreum) populations from natural lakes, mainstem Missouri River reservoirs, and other impoundments in South Dakota. The mean of means at each age was calculated both by water type and as an overall statewide average. Back-calculated length at age was highly variable within each age group. The statewide average length at age was larger for Sooth Dakota walleyes than for Minnesota walleyes.
