This report describes the geology of the Samoan archipelago, especially Tutuila where detailed work was done and the geologic literature was reviewed. Tutuila was built by five volcanoes. A caldera six miles across, formed by a collapsed top of the Pago volcano is described, and its bounding fault is mapped.
