The authors monitored disturbance of Brandt's Cormorants, Pelagic Cormorants, Western Gulls, Pigeon Guillemots, and Black Oystercatchers on Alcatraz from April through August, 2000. To get an accurate assessment, population size, productivity, and breeding chronology was monitored for all of the above. This report discusses the findings as well as recommendations for ways to minimize disturbance on the seabirds.
