A bald eagle survey protocol specific to LACL was developed and implemented in 1999. Intensive surveys to locate new nests and check the status of existing nests will be conducted in 3 survey areas on a yearly rotational basis. This year, intensive surveys of all suitable shoreline habitat were conducted for interior lakes and rivers. Late productivity surveys were conducted only for nests that were occupied or active during the early occupancy survey.
