The gravesite of John Muir is in a watershed heavily affected by urbanization and other land use changes. The gravesite is potentially threatened by bank erosion of nearby Alhambra Creek. This report is an assessment of the stream bank's stability near the gravesite using a combination of hydrologic, and geomorphic methods but also drawing from field observations of channel morphology, riparian vegetation and measurements of channel geometry. Recommendations are made regarding erosion monitoring and possible management action.
