This paper addresses the impact of devegetation by the La Mesa Fire on the geomorphic processes of the Rito de los Frijoles, Bandelier National Monument, NM. Changes to ephemeral channels and the perrenial stream are determined by calculating the runoff, erosion rates, and sediment yields for Burnt Mesa and Apache Springs over a three year period. Hydrograph results of pre-burn and postburn stream flow are compared. Predictions of future geomorphic adjustments are included.
