The Puerto Rico Dump (PRD) on Saipan is a 20 acre site which juts into the Saipan Lagoon, a major scenic and recreational attraction for residents and tourist. It is adjacent to AMME. There have been many studies and attempts to resolve the solid waste problems in the Commonwealth., the most important actions being the closure of the PRD and the opening of a properly constructed and maintained new landfill.
