New proposal for Axis deer studies on Molokai,, Kalaupapa, NHP. The objectives of this project are to document age and sex distribution, birth rate, survivability, sources of mortality, home range, diurnal and seasonal movements, food preferences, and population size and density. Examine the relative effects of deer foraging and trampling on native and alien plant species, and model (predict) the effects on vegetstion communities of reducing or removing the deer population.
