This study focuses on the status of fish stocking, fish populations, and wildlife management in the mountain lakes of western United States. Fishery managers and biologists were interviewed in order to determine management policies in regard to fish stocking. Approximately 75 percent of the lakes studied were regularly stocked with trout and very few wildlife managers considered the impact on aquatic ecosystems and wild fish populations. Study area includes Olympic National Park, WA.
