A study of Naio in Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park

Hauanio L. 1995. A study of Naio in Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park

An inventory of Naio (Myoporum sandwicense) was conducted in KAHO in 1993-1994. Individual plants were located. Plant growth was monitored, and final adult size was observed to depend on environmental conditions, making age determination based on size inaccurate. Most plants were observed to be flowering, though seedling recruitment was only noted around Kaloko Pond. Maps of plant locations with reference to landmarks are included. Data sheets from monitoring are located in folder in natural resources drawer labeled "Naio project data". Loose color map of inventory is also in file.
