Stream assessment, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Newman L. 2004. Stream assessment, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - Ashland Fishery Resources Office. Ashland WI

A study was conducted from 1997 to 2003 to gather baseline data on the fish communities found in streams and rivers of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Streams were sampled by backpack electrofishing, and the total number of each fish species caught was recorded for each stream location sampled. Suggestions supported by fishery assessments and historical information were made to aid in the management of coaster brook trout.
