The article discusses the opening of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) Grey Cloud Dunes natural area. The land was donated to the DNR by Marathon Ashland Petroleum. The site was believed to contain between 200 and 225 rare plant and animal species, including the sea beach needle grass and blue racer snake. Much of the area falls within the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.
