Burnett RD and King JR. 2004. The birds of Lassen Volcanic National Park: an annotated checklist

Quoted from publication: "This checklist includes bird records only from within the park boundary proper (i.e. the Mineral headquarters, located outside the park, are excluded) through 2002. Up to this time, 216 species had been confirmed in the park, including 6 introduced species (Common Peafowl, Ring-necked Pheasant, Ruffed Grouse, Wild Turkey, Rock Pigeon, and European Starling) while the occurrence of an additional 19 species is considered unconfirmed. Ninety-six species are known to have bred in the park with an additional twelve suspected of breeding. Barrow's Goldeneye and California Condor both known to have occured here historically are now extirpated from the park and region." Sections: Ornithological Research in the Park, Acknowledgements, Terminology, Status, Occurence, Records Request, Additional Definitions, Species Accounts, Literature Cited.
