The objectives of the program are to prevent and control the introduction of nonpoint source pollution into the CNMI's ground and surface waters. Administering 6217 and NPS 319 grant programs, and implementation of the CNMI's 6217 plan and the NPS Upgraded Plan in coordination with the Watershed Group and Coastal Resources Management office. In addition to program requirements, the NPS staff will participate pro-actively in finding problems (i.e, inspect priority watersheds, once every three (3) months for nonpoint source pollution problems at the mouth of streams especially during heavy rainfall).
