Demographic Parameters of the California Spotted Owl on the Lassen National Forest: Preliminary Results (1990-1993)
Blakesley J and Noon B. 1993. Demographic Parameters of the California Spotted Owl on the Lassen National Forest: Preliminary Results (1990-1993)
This research was conducted on California Spotted Owl populations in the Lassen National Forest area of northeastern California. One study site was in Lassen Volcanic National Park. The objectives of this study were to estimate the finite rate of change in the size of the population of females, to estimate the age- and sex-specific survival and recruitment rates, to determine reproductive output, to estimate sex and age class structure, to estimate annual variablitity in population and demographic parameters, and to document diet through analyses of owl pellets. In 1993, four years of research had been completed.
