The purpose of this draft is to provide information on test flows which are related toGlen Canyon Dam operations and the resource management in Glen and Grand Canyons.These tests include rebuilding eroded sandbars, reforming backwater habitatsfor native fish, and mimicking the natural processes that create a dynamic GrandCanyon ecosystem. This document discusses the potential impacts of the proposed Spring 1996 high-water release from Glen Canyon Dam. The experimental flood is to simulate natural flooding events and is expected to rebuild beaches and sandbars. Details of the affected environment and environmental consequences are included.
