This guide describes the various wildlife habitats that constitute the Wildlife Habitat Relationships (WHR) classification system. It was developed to recognize and logically categorize major vegetative complexes at a scale sufficient to predict wildlife-habitat relationships. One objective of the WHR System is to provide a framework that diverse resource interests can use to effectively bridge among various disciplines (e.g., wildlife, forestry, and range).
