History of Goodale's (Jeffrey's) Cutoff. Describes the journey of Tim Goodale and the wagons he lead along what was formerly known as Jeffrey's Cutoff. He traveled with 795 men after a stop at Craters of the Moon (picking up wagons as they went along) and another 300 women and children. History of Goodale's Cutoff, an alternate route from the main Oregon Trail. The trail allowed emigrants to bypass more heavily grazed areas along the common routes and also avoid increased Native activities and dangers associated along the main path as well. Claims this 1800's trail passed through part of CRMO (Craters of the Moon National Monument). Consists of 2 articles, written in 1966 and 1985.
