During 2002 13 streams within Point Reyes National Seashore and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area were surveyed for the presence and status of the federally endangered California freshwater shrimp. Field results confirmed the presence of freshwater shrimp within Olema Creek while no freshwater shrimp were found in the other sites. Other species of interest that were collected during sampling include the western pearlshell mussel on Olema Creek, the Tomales asellid on Glenbrook Creek, and post-metamorphic California red-legged frogs at Glenbrook and Laguna Creeks.
