The project will serve as baseline data for future aquatic microbial community studies in Oregon Caves. Quantitative measurements of biochemical oxygen demand, bacterial abundance, cave pool volumes, cave protozoa/bacteria culture establishment, and examination of live moonmilk can be used as tools to indicate potential ecosystem changes. Methods, results and discussion of each measurement parameter are included in the report. Recommendation for future measurements are discussed. Tables of cave pool measurements and descriptions included.
