Excerpts: "The idea for this workshop grew out of the needs of the Klamath Fishery Management Council. The Council is responsible for making management recommendations concerning the anadromous fisheries resources of the Klamath Basin. The Klamath River Task Force, responsible for guiding the Klamath Restoration Program to rebuild fishery habitat, is a sister group to the Council. The anadromous fish of the Klamath Basin rely on the freshwater habitat for survival during spawning, rearing and juvenile emigration phases. However, the estuary and ocean environments are as critical to the survival of these fish stocks. It is the Council and Task Force's desire to provide a forum for better understanding the physical and biological dynamics of the marine environment. This will provide a picture of the factors affecting restoration of these fish stocks and the habitat they depend upon."
