Objectives: 1. To map and photograph locations of primary marine mammal rookeries and other major use areas within the proposed Kenai Fjords National Park and determin the number of marine mammals using those areas during the summer months. 2. To observe and quantify the behavioral responses of marine mammals to human activities, such as boating, fishing, and aircraft. 3. To examin selected aspects of the ecology and behavior of harbor seals breeding in Aialik Bay. Emphasis will be on population composition, destribution and movements, productivity, mortality, and social behavior. 4. To recommend marine mammal viewing opportunities and other recreational uses, with predition of the effects of increasing visitor usage.
