Excerpts from technical report; "In the summer of 1999, the Forest Science Project completed a juvenile coho salmon abundance survey in the Mad River-Redwood Creek Hydrologic Unit. The goal of this study within any given year, is to estimate the total number of juvenile coho salmon within a defined sampling universe. The long term objective of the project is to provide information that can assist in projecting the future viability of coho salmon." Snorkel dives, using Hankin and Revees method, was used to estimate Juvenile coho population. Methods are outlined in the document, results are not reported because, as of yet, there is too little data to produce population estimates.
