The interpretive document describes the restoration at Elk Meadow. A mill deck, built in 1967, was constructed on a filled wetland. After the park acquisition of this site, it was determined that this area could be restored. One goal of the restoration was to restore in-stream coho salmon rearing habitat, however a variety of aquatic species have utilized the Elk Meadow Site. The species include pacific giant salamanders, three spined sticklebacks, juvenile lampreys, rough skinned newts, suckers, sculpins, juvenile steelhead and cutthroat trout.
