The Fisheries Research Institute has conducted several tagging experiments on the sockeye salmon runs in Bristol Bay, Alaska. On three occasions tagging was done in the commercial fishery: in Nushagak Bay in 1946, in Egegik Rivr the next year, and in the Naknek/Kvichak fishery in 1950-1951. No public account has been made of the results of the 1946-1947 tagging. Because there is a scarcity of tagging data on Bristol Bay sockeye salmon, the experiments are briefly recounts in this circular.
