The purpose of the scoping meeting was to bring together the park staff, geoscientists, and other subject matter specialists to address the issue of human influences on geologic processes at Craters of the Moon National Monument (CRMO). The report focuses on the geologic processes at work in the Park, the importance of those processes to the ecosystem, and the influence of humans on those processes. Eight of the 17 geologic processes identified were considered to be highly significant to the park ecosystems. Areas of concern were identified and recomendations made for inventory and monitoring needs, minimization of human influences on geologic processes, and possible research topics.
