Taken directly from introduction: "This report summarizes black bear research and management activities that occurred within Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) during 2002. The black bear research section was excluded from this report, as no black bear research was proposed or initiated within RNSP during 2002. The management section summarizes all important bear sightings and incidents, bear related meetings and education efforts, funding, known mortalities, and fiscal year 2003 priorities for black bear management within RNSP." The appendices include a table with bear sightings reported to RNSP during 2002, minutes of the spring 2002 and fall 2002 Bear Panel meetings, and bear warning and informational signs.
