Taken directly from introduction: "This report summarizes black bear research and management activities that occurred within Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) during 2000. The black bear research section was not included in this report, because no black bear research was proposed or initiated within RNSP during 2000. The management section summarizes important bear sightings and incidents, mortalities, meetings, education, funding, and fiscal year 2001 priorities related to black bear management within RNSP." The appendices include a table with bear sightings reported to RNSP during 2000, summaries of bear activity within RNSP campgrounds during 2000, minutes of the Bear Panel meeting for June 21 and November 30, 2000, and a list of solicited funders for bear proof equipment needs during 2000.
