The purpose of this report is to identify priority areas for the establishment and management of global representative systems of marine protected areas (MPAs). The report includes maps of the 18 biogeographic regions noting existing MPAs, existing MPAs characterized as to national and regional priority for management strengthening and proposed new MPAs of national priority or regional priority along with supportive information for each of the regions. American Samoa has three existing MPAs which are American Samoa National Park, Fagatele Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and Rose Atoll National Marine Sanctuary. Improved management is recommended or all three existing MPAs in American Samoa and there are no new proposed MPAs for the territory.
