Ecological subsections of Kenai Fjords National Park

Tande GF and Michaelson J. 2001. Ecological subsections of Kenai Fjords National Park

Ecological land classifications involve organizing ecosystem components at various scales based on the recognition that ecological components and features operate within a hierarchy of differing spatial and temporal scales (ECOMAP 1993, Bailey 1996). This hierarchically linked structure reveals that smaller-scale features, such as vegetation and soils, are related to and nest within larger-scale components such as climate and physiography.
