The annual CRMO bird census was revised for the 1997 field season. The new survey is designed to be more compatible with data being collected by neighboring land management agencies or state bird monitoring programs. The new survey is intended to focus on individual species populations, with special attention being given to species of concern such as threatened and endangered birds, neotropical migrants, and sagebrush-steppe obligates.
