These proceedings contain 12 formal presentations made to introduce workshop participants to the state of knowledge regarding sources of pollutants and their sensitive receptors. These include summaries of emissions and types of deposition, presentations on effects of different pollutants to biological and cultural resources, and specific park case studies of how pollutants affect resources. Ways in which scientific information regarding causes and effects could be applied by land managers to mitigate pollution impacts on national park units were also discussed.
