The study reexamined amphibians at nine sites in CA (including Dersch Meadows, LVNP),CO,ID,MS,MT,OH,and TX, for populations with malformations caused by trematode infections, such as Ribeiroia. Although no pesticides were detected, Ribeiroia infection was detected at all sites, indicating that Ribeiroia infection has historically been an important cause of mass malformations in amphibians.
