This letter to the congress of the United States proposes additions to the National Wilderness Preservation System and the the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. One of these proposed additions is the Great Rift area of Blaine, Butte, Minidoka, and Power counties of Idaho. It included 322,450 acres of desert lava flows within the Great Rift National Natural Landmark to be preserved as an outstanding example of basaltic volcanism.
