Thirty-two Canada lynx (Lynx canadensis) were immobilized with phenocyclidine hydrochloride (Sernylan) near Central, Alaska (14 females 19 times and 8 males 13 times). A regression analysis of time off feet in hours versus mg of drug per kg of lynx revealed correlations within a sex (0.92 males, 0.86 females) and a 98 percent confidence that the observed differences between the sexes were not due to chance, as indicated by the Student's t-test. No discernible differences were noted between lynxes immobilized once and those immobilized more than once.
