Night Sky Monitoring Program

The plan for long-term monitoring of night sky light levels at the Southeast Utah Group National Park Service units is outlined in this report. Methodologies and monitoring locations have been established in park units based on NPS National Night Sky Monitoring Team protocols. Field protocols and equipment descriptions and use are detailed in the methods. Analysis and management of data are described. Light image calibration is done with Maxim DL Software, and then processed with ArcView or ArcGIS. A total of 19 data sets have been collected in the SEUG park units through 2003. The authors provide a discussion of the results of data for each park unit.
