Between 2001 and 2003, surveys for fishes, amphibians, reptiles, breeding birds and mammals were carried out at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument. The goal of these surveys was to document at least 90% of the vertebrate species present in the park. Various detection methods were utilized. The survey recorded the presence of 18 fishes, 28 reptiles, 72 breeding birds, and 32 mammals in LAMR and ALFL. An additional section provides a discussion of species that may be present in the park, but were not detected during the survey.
