Survey dates: November 15-21, 2003 (5.5 days of survey, 1.5 weather days) Total area: 3157 mi^2 (8177 km^2) Total moose observed: 159 (87 cows, 17 calves[1 set twins], 55 bulls [6 spike-fork bulls]) Average search effort: 6.6 minutes/mi^2 (2.6 minutes/km^2) Population estimate: 696 moose +/-166 (530-862) (+/-23.86% at 90% CI) (375 cows, 94 calves, 227 bulls [24 spike-fork (yrl) bulls]). Estimated density: 0.22 moose/mi^2 (0.085 moose/km^2 Estimated age/sex ratios: 25 calves:100 cows, 13 yearlings:100 cows, 61 bulls:100 cows Average harvest: 26 bulls per year (20 year average, preserve wide)
