Chaco Canyon National Monument, located within the Colorado River drainage basin, is characterized by gentle sloping mesas with steepwalled canyons. Chaco River, an intermittent stream, is the principal drainage which is subject to flash flooding. No springs (intermittent or perennial) exist within the Monument. This document describes the hydrology of this monument.
