In 1998 and 1999, we performed a capture-recapture experiment to determine abundance of northern pike in Lake Aleknagik, located in Southwest Alaska. Radiotelemetry was used to determine that the northern pike population in the lake was closed from July 1998 through July 1999, and thus that abundance and length composition of northern pike in the lake could be relably estimated by the experiment.
