A report summarizing the biennial American Samoa Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program that took place in February 3-24, 2004. The NOAA ship Oscar Elton Sette was used to conduct research on the coral reef ecosystems of American Samoa archipelago. Rapid Ecological Assessment surveys were taken for fish, corals, other invertebrates and algae. The primary objective was to monitor the status of and temporal and spatial changes of the coral reef ecosystems. Most of the surveys were conducted at the sites previously monitored in 2002 or earlier surveys conducted by other scientists.
