The Double Point Area of Special Biological Significance (ASBS) encompasses 86 acres including two promontory headlands and subtidal reefs. It is situated entirely within the southern boundary of Point Reyes National Seashore. Stormy Stack rock is a breeding rookery for thousands of birds. The over 500 harbor seals, one of the largest populations in the world, provides the rationale for inclusion as a California ASBS. Surveys included collection of taxa and development of species lists.
